Many Childless couples across the world desperately opting for a surrogacy to get a baby and India became surrogacy hub because commercial surrogacy is completely allowed. In this context protecting surrogate mothers rights and educating them about their roles and responsibilities are very much important.
Currently fertility clinics are playing major and excellent role in facilitating surrogacy. There is still a greater need to support the surrogate mothers like psychosocial support, nutritional guidance, privacy, stress relief and need based counseling.

Appliance Bank
Appliance Bank
An appliance bank is a first of its kind concept, wherein unused appliances are tapped from the public and given to those who are in need. This is very similar in concept to the book bank or eye bank.
What do you do with your old books? Do you throw them in the rubbish bin? Do you give it to the neighbouring paper shop? No, you give it to a book bank, so that some child who cannot afford to buy them can get them free.
What do you do with your old clothes? You donate them to a poor beggar who is clothed in rags. Similarly, when you have an appliance like a caliper, a walker, tricycle that you have used and have no use for, or if you have had a relative who has used any of these, you can donate these to FREEDOM TRUST. We will repair them, maintain them and distribute them to the needy free of cost.

Organ Donation
What is organ donation?
In organ donation, a person pledges during her/his lifetime, that after death, organ/s from the body can be used for transplantation to help terminally ill patients get a new lease of life. According to the law, however, the prerogative on the decision eventually rests with the next of kin of the deceased.
Legal position on organ donations:
Organ donations are legal by Indian law. The Indian government enacted the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA), 1994, which allows organ donation, and legalized the concept of 'brain death'.
Brain death:
Brain death is the irreversible and permanent cessation of all brain functions. In situations of brain death, a person cannot sustain his own life, but vital body functions may be maintained in an 'intensive care unit' for a short period of time. Such persons are kept on artificial support to maintain oxygenation of organs so that the organs are in a healthy condition until they are removed. Organs of such patients can be transplanted to terminally ill patients.
Documents required:
The donor needs to fill a prescribed consent form, which can either be downloaded from the ministry of health and family welfare, government of India (http://mohfw.nic.in/) or accessed from the medical facility that is approached for organ removal.
A written consent form from the lawful custodian of the body after the death of the patient in a prescribed application form.
The potential donor can also approach organ donation agencies for a donor card. Although not legally binding, the donor card is a means of expressing ones willingness to donate kidneys and make family more understanding towards the cause.
Points to remember:
A panel of four doctors needs to declare brain stem death twice in a time frame of six hours. These are: the medical administrator in charge of the hospital, an authorized specialist, a neurologist/neuro-surgeon and the medical officer treating patient.
Healthy organs should be transplanted as soon as possible from the donor to the recipient.
The authority to give consent for organ donation lies with the person lawfully in possession of the dead body.
There is neither charge nor payment made on account of organ donation.

HAS - Humane Animal Society
HAS , A NGO in Coimbatore provide food, shelter and above all love to stray animals and rehabilitate them appropriately. It actively promotes adoption and prevent unwanted breeding through effective implementation of the ABC (Animal Birth Control) program.
They are involved in massively sterilizing and vaccinating dogs against rabies within the city to achieve an over 70% success rate. they say , If this rate of sterilization is accomplished within one breeding cycle, the results are immediate, demonstrating a visual and measurable impact. HAS conducts periodic ARV camps at different locations of Coimbatore city for helping public protect their pets thereby protecting themselves and those around them.
Their team of dog catchers go to a specified area and each day capture 10 - 12 dogs. The dogs are humanely captured using a pole and loop and are placed in their vehicle to be transported to their clinic. The same day or at the latest the next day each dog is sterilised and vaccinated against rabies. At the same time they mark the dogs so that they know they have been sterilised - this is done by making a notch in the dog's ear. They are then housed in their kennels until they have recovered sufficiently from their operation. This usually takes about three days. The dogs are then returned to where they were captured and released. They keep comprehensive records to ensure that each dog goes back to the same place it was captured from. This ensures a stable population in the area.
At their clinic in Seeranaickenpalayam (within the Shelter provided by Corporation of Coimbatore City) they sterilise and vaccinate more than 100 dogs each month.
There are millions of stray and homeless animals in India today. HAS does what is practically possible to control these numbers in a humane way for e.g. by adopting procedures such as Animal Birth Control. But due to financial and infrastructural limitations, it is practically not possible for HAS to individually provide shelter for all these animals.
If each one of us were to adopt one stray/ homeless animal, the numbers of those without shelter would become negligible.
HAS volunteers trained in dog behaviour will guide the prospective adopters to make the correct choice, and advice the new adopters about dog care, diet, behaviour, vaccinations and grooming.
Prospective adopters would be interviewed by HAS counsellors to ensure that the dog goes to a loving and responsible home. If found suitable, they would be allowed to adopt the dog. The new adopters will be given vaccination certificates, leaflets on dog care and will have our assistance at any step.
The objective of this ADOPTION is to encourage people to adopt dogs that really require a home instead of going and buying one. Hundreds of dogs (abandonded pets) have been adopted by people in the past and have made wonderful pets
