The Chennai Trekking Club strives to encourage trekking as an organized sport.
CTC organizes treks mainly in and around South India, and is the largest and most active trekking community in the region frequently covered by the media.
The group also organizes periodic senior and ladies treks.
CTC has taken out hundreds of underprivileged children (orphans, HIV infected, ...) on tens of social treks to spread social awareness amongst its members and the society and to provide the kids with an life remembering experience.
CTC has a strong passion towards environmental awareness and preservation.
The group strongly believes in free knowledge sharing through educational workshops on a variety of related topics - map reading & navigation, photography & post-processing, snakes, trekking and camping, first aid and survival, fauna and flora and more.
